AI Commentary, or Commentary Writer, is our first AI feature, and the first of many. It generates commentary from the financial and non financial results in your Fathom reports, which is a big time saver if you spend hours explaining results to clients or your own team.
Happy with the result? Add it to your report. Want more? Keep prompting to refine it.
You can now see divisions at the consolidated level, which you couldn't do before. Add a financials by division table to a report and you get per division tracking across your consolidated group, with everything you'd expect from a financial table, including account codes and profit margins.
To set this up, a new division grouping section in your consolidated group settings collects the divisions from every entity in the group and groups them by type. Think departments, locations or cost centers. Divisions match on name and type, and if yours are named differently across sources, you can create custom groupings to bring them together.
You can now view the cash flow forecast directly within the forecasting grid itself. This is part of a set of forecasting improvements made earlier in the year, and we'll keep building on them. Highlights:
If your source ledger isn't one we integrate with, Excel used to be the main route. Now you can use Google Sheets as a source with a live sync. Turn on automatic updates and your advisors or clients can update the sheet while your reports and forecasts stay current. You can pull data from other sheets with functions like IMPORTRANGE, and relink a sheet if you move it.
You can now filter a consolidated financial trend table by individual company. View actuals, budgets, forecasts and projections, and even switch between scenarios for each company. If an entity is underperforming (or overperforming) in a given month or quarter, you can highlight it right in your consolidated report.
Trend tables also get a customizable title, a customer favorite on other tables, which adds flexibility to how they look, especially in PDFs. This one has been highly requested, so thank you for the feedback.

One of our goals this financial year is to open Fathom up as a platform and a data source, so you can work with your data whichever tools you use. Here's the first look Luke shared.
An MCP server lets AI tools and agents interact with your Fathom data and understand what it offers. It's coming over the next few months and is already in closed beta, and it will let you connect all the main LLMs to your Fathom data. One of our main objectives is to facilitate report and forecast creation using natural language, so you don't have to be a Fathom expert to produce tailored forecasts and insightful financial reports.
A public REST API will let any Fathom customer push data into Fathom and pull it out. It's built for jobs where an MCP server isn't the right fit, like importing data from sources we don't integrate with natively. We're aiming for the start of 2027 for the first release, which lets you create and update API sourced entities. That's a first for Fathom, and in theory you can connect from any reasonable source, including source ledgers and non-financial data such as operational data.
We're starting to bring transactional data into Fathom to drive our insights even further. You'll be able to see the transactions behind an account balance for any month or quarter, including invoices, bills, credit notes and journals, and link straight to them from Fathom. That means less switching to your accounting tool, and a faster way to spot which transactions are driving a variance.
A refresh for Fathom Reports. "Reporting 3.0" is just our internal name for it. Expect ready made, professional cover themes, plus a new interactive cover designer so you can create your own, with more control over text, images, fonts and colors. We're also making the building blocks of a report, like charts and financial tables, easier to find, particularly for AI agents.
Fathom Evo is the Access Group's AI platform, connecting data from all its products and tools. Bring your Fathom data into a secure, private AI platform where you can query it, produce things Fathom can't create today, like custom artifacts, and connect other data sources. Tools will include Evo Researcher, which lets you prompt your data and unlock those artifacts, an AI workflow builder for automating actions in Fathom with AI agents, and an AI tool builder for creating new applications from your Fathom data, such as custom dashboards and forecasts. We'll share much more soon.
